At the CAVOK Center, it is possible to take the test for language proficiency certification English and the assessment of written and oral skills of non-English native speakers, the so-called "Language Proficiency Requirements", according to ICAO regulations, and European regulations and national.

The CAVOK Center is authorised by AFAN as the Official Center of English Certification for Pilots (AFAN Center No. 150).

AELP Work - Aviation English Language Proficiency

The AELP test is oral and is administered by an examiner appointed by AFAN. Each test is recorded and sent by the CAVOK Center to the AFAN office for the issue of the corresponding certificate.

Why should you take the AELP test?

The AFAN English test is based on ICAO rules, but in comparison to other similar tests, it focuses on the aspect of communication in English, both from the point of view of simple comprehension and communication.

AELP AFAN Examination Model

The AELP test is an assessment of knowledge and understanding of the English language from a general and aeronautical point of view:

  • Introductory questions, to establish general knowledge of the language
  • 10 Messages to listen to and then repeat/decipher/explain
  • Fill-in the Gaps, typical of IELTS and Cambridge standards, on which all ICAO examinations are based. This section represents the major difference from the TEA examination
  • 2 Photos, on the basis of which to answer specific questions relating to possible situations verifiable in aviation (emergency and/or standard situations)

The examination takes approximately 30 minutes.
