Areas of Analysis and Laboratory Medicine

Clinical biochemistry tests are performed using a blood sample and allow for the assessment of various parameters that help evaluate overall health, such as liver and kidney function, lipid profile, and carbohydrate metabolism.

Autoimmunity tests help in the further evaluation of autoimmune conditions and diseases. The selection of these tests is generally guided by a specialist medical evaluation, which directs the patient toward the most appropriate tests.

The cytology department performs tests on cervical-vaginal, urinary, and sputum samples. For certain types of samples, specific collection containers are required, and medical history forms must be completed according to the laboratory’s instructions.

Hematology tests are performed on blood samples and help assess any abnormalities or disorders of the blood, such as anemia, thalassemia, leukemia, or a low count of circulating platelets.

Microbiological tests are performed on various biological samples, such as urine, stool, and oral or genital swabs, and help identify any pathogenic microorganisms, providing the physician with useful information for determining the most appropriate treatment.

The allergy section includes tests designed to provide a more in-depth understanding of specific sensitivities and reactions. In addition to food intolerance tests, the section offers tests for specific IgE antibodies and additional resources such as a complete list of allergens and recommended panels.

Coagulation tests are performed using a blood sample and are indicated for monitoring oral anticoagulant therapy and for further evaluation required during the preoperative phase or as part of routine clinical follow-up.

Hormone tests allow for a more in-depth evaluation and monitoring of various clinical conditions related to the endocrine system through targeted tests designed to assess specific hormonal parameters.

Tumor marker testing is a useful tool for monitoring various types of cancer and for the clinical evaluation protocols established by the physician.

The virology and serology department offers tests designed to detect viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted diseases, with examinations that aid in diagnostic evaluation and clinical monitoring.
